Is Hijab a Choice or Compulsion?

Many people in the world are thinking why Muslim women give importance on wearing hijab. Do they really like to wear them or they are forced to wear because of their culture. Hijab is not a Compulsion but a Choice of a Believing Woman. In fact, hijabs are just a part of clothing for women.

A hijab is never a sign of oppression, ignorance or falling in the shadows of society. Here are some reasons to know why hijabs are not a compulsion and why Muslim girls/women like to wear hijab…

The Hijab is an Act of Obedience :The Hijab is an act of obedience to Allah (SWT) and to His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH). The people who wear hijab are following the command of Allah (SWT).

The Hijab Is Tahara (Purity) :Wearing Hijabs make greater purity for the hearts of believing women and men because it screens against the desire of the heart.

“And when you ask them for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen that is purer for your hearts and their hearts.” (Qur’an 33:53)

The heart is more pure when the sight is blocked withhijab and thus prevents you from evil actions. The Hijab can cut off all the evil thoughts and the greed of the sick hearts.

The Hijab Is A Shield : According to Muslim traditional, Hijabs are meant to be shielding or covering.“Any woman who takes off her clothes in other than her husband’s home to show off for unlawful purposes has broken Allah’s shield upon her”

The Hijab Is Eeman :Eeman means “Belief or Faith”. Allah (SWT) addresses his words about hijab only for the believing women.

So, Hijab is not only a particular for Muslims but also it is common for all women who have faith and belief. Enjoy wearing Hijab!
