Simple tips to Care for Your Hijabs

Hijabs

When you have found the perfect set of hijabs to match various life events, you obviously want to protect them with much care. Explained below is a simple set of hijab care tips that can help prolong the life of hijabs and protect them in their best condition.

1)  Hijabs must be washed separately and not mixed with other clothing elements. This prevents the hijabs from intertwining with the sleeves of your shirt or your pants.

2)  Irrespective of the fabric (may be silk, chiffon, jersey and so on), all hijabs must be washed with lukewarm water only. Cold water may not rip of the oil and other dirt completely from the fabric and hot water can destroy the colors.

3)  If there are any stubborn stains, use a pinch of baking soda to treat them. In addition to this, if your hijab store has offered any particular washing instructions for the fabric, it must be followed perfectly.

4)  While using the dryer, use the lowest intensity option for longer life of the fabric.

5) Woven hijabs and jersey hijabs tend to shrink after the wash and must be pressed in order to look perfect. Care must be taken to ensure that the less shiny side is always used to press the hijab (especially in the case of silk and satin hijabs).

6) Hijab hangers are now available and can be comfortably used to organize all types of hijabs. Using the hanger also prevent wrinkling of the fabric.
